Turbulence Training Ebook Review

Turbulence Training, the ebook by Craig Ballantyne, claims to be able to burn fat and build muscle simultaneously in both men and women.  This is a tall order for any workout program to fill.  In this Turbulence Training Ebook Review I’ll determine if Craig delivers on this claim.

First of all, let’s talk a little about Craig Ballantyne, creator of Turbulence Training.  Craig is fitness, fat loss and muscle building advice is trusted by popular fitness magazines like Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Oxygen and Shape.  His experience comes from years of study, in the trenches observation and even research trails on sports supplements, strength training and cardiovascular training.  When it comes to fitness and fat loss, he has seen it or done it!

What instigated the writing of Turbulence Training?

Craig is a lot like most of us.  The activities of sport, work and life are very demanding on our time.  For example, while Craig was working on his Masters, he didn’t have a lot of time to work out.  Therefore, he researched the fastest ways possible to keep the fat off and keep the muscle on.  What resulted was Turbulence Training, a unique combination of resistance training and interval training which produces the “turbulence effect”.

Turbulence Training is all about the quality of the work you do during your training sessions, not the quantity.  Most people who fail to get the results they seek following a workout program normally think it is because they didn’t do enough.  But the truth is, their failure was probably due to not taking advantage of their training time to the fullest advantage.  Turbulence Training packs a lot of work into a short period of time.

So, if you have around 45 minutes to spend 3 times a week, this workout program delivers.  But be prepared to work for those 45 minutes.  Craig combines bodyweight exercises, dumbbell exercises (barbells and Swiss balls can also be used if you have them), into a quick effective resistance training workout.  Then follow the resistance portion with interval training and you boost your metabolism to burn calories and fat both during and after the workout.  This is the “secret” of Turbulence Training.  You create a metabolic disturbance (turbulence) with intense exercise so your body keeps burning calories long after the workout has ended.

You may be thinking this sounds a lot like the workout you are doing now.  But it is the subtle differences that make this workout program so effective.  First of all, the resistance training is done using supersets.  A superset is when you do two (non-competing) exercises back to back.  So instead of standing around in between sets, you are working a completely different movement or muscle group.  Plus, interval training is not only faster, but more effective at burning fat than the long, slow cardio you are used to doing.  Put together, you have an extremely effective and quick workout that forces your body to get rid of the fat and keep (if not build) muscle!

So, Turbulence Training is NOT...

-      A workout dependent on a room full of expensive machines

-      A bodybuilding program to bulk up your muscles

-      A recommendation for long, slow aerobics workouts

-      A plan for spending hours in the gym doing “isolation” exercises

-      A restrictive diet plan that leaves you feeling starved and drained

Turbulence Training IS a workout that cranks up the intensity or both your resistance training and cardio training which forces your body to get rid of unwanted fat and build wanted muscle!

I know what some of you might be thinking.  All this talk about “intensity” might make Turbulence Training too advanced for you.  But don’t worry, Craig has included a 6-week introductory program so beginners can start right.  As you improve, you can try some of the intermediate or advanced workouts he also provides.  Plus, he includes workouts specially targeted to women, bodyweight only workout and building muscle.  Frankly, there is something for everyone and you can progress at your own pace.

But is the Turbulence Training Ebook only about resistance training and interval training?  No, he also provides guidelines for proper eating and a healthy lifestyle.  Put the combination of proper eating, effective training and a healthy lifestyle to work, and you’ll be well on your way to reaching your fitness, fat loss and muscle building goals.

If you’ve previously dread working out or going to the gym because you think it takes too long, this is your chance.  With just a time investment of 45 minutes, 3 times a week you can change the way your body looks, feels and performs.  Follow the Turbulence Training guidelines, and you’ll be burning fat and building a muscular body in no time.
