Now that the weather has gotten better here in Chicago, I began training on sand. Sand provides many advantages. The sand its self is a resistance through which your feet have to work. Therefore, feet muscle are getting great workout. Additionally, the sand reduces impact usually associated with running or playing sports on hard surface.
You also do not need much equipment. set up some cones (or place shoes) in strategic positions and of you go. For upper body, you can bring a MB ball and throw it around with a training partner.
