I have always been athletic and passionate about sports and fitness. Therefore, I thought personal training would be a fun job. Working directly with people proved to be rewarding. Consequently, I began a passionate study of fitness. As part of my lifelong education in fitness, I have read countless books/articles, taken numerous educational seminars, and completed several certification programs, including the prestigious and rigorous Muscle Activation Technique™ (MAT).
Pilates session

Yesterday I did my first reformer one-on-one Pilates
session. Although I was skeptical of it
at first, I really did enjoy it. I think
Pilates is a good method of progressing through ranges of motion. As MAT specialist, I hate forcing body into
ranges of motion (ie passive stretching).
However, the Pilates instructor was very careful at PROGRESSING. I have explained to her that I will only do
things that my body is comfortable with (I am not very flexible). She agreed.
As I performed each exercise I moved farther and farther into each range
of motion, and as a result I felt looser after the session. This was exactly what I was looking forward
to.
