I have never figured a perfect rest schedule.  It seems that at times my body needs several days to recovery from a workout or long day at the beach (playing sand volleyball) and there are other times that I feel better the next two days.  In fact, after last volleyball season I decided to take a week off from all training.  I did maybe 10 minutes on a recumbent bike.  After that week I felt worse (stiff and with joint pain) than at the very end of season.  So much for validity in literature…….
